When I bought Bowling For Soup's album "Rock On Honorable Ones!!" last summer, I found it derivative and boring, a thorough disappointment. Determined to get my money's worth, I persevered and listened to the entire record. Halfway through, to keep myself entertained, I resorted to coming up with band names not quite as stupid as "Bowling For Soup". It may be thanks to this seemingly banal activity that I retained my sanity. Today, while clearing out my room, I came across the piece of paper I used. I record the band names here for posterity:

The Stable Boys
Speckled Hens
Algebra Nonsense
The Sator Squares
Dreams of Q
Stupe
Señor Bando
Fingerface
Find-a-Pimple
Rutherford
Jeff's Impressive Band
Winnie-the-Poop
Whispering Kidneys
Rekjavik
Felt-Tip Brain
Kettlehead
Shades of Milton
A Dumb Waste Of Time
The Beeple Bops
Computer Men
Kreek
Fire In The Cities
Ringbinder
King Wrong
The Deborah Files
Mnky
Scewer
Please Sir
Half A Furniture
We Hate Coffee
Wangs To The Rescue
The Adventures Of Ray
Left Bollock
Just A Metaphor
Raining Rock
APokkalypsE
Interior Design
Eating Joanne
Dad Why
Rusty Joints
Tibia Fibia
I Fell Over
Velkro
Grrrrrn
Penis
The Heteronormative Ownership Paradigm
Thorn
Walrus Teeth
The Gays
Right In The Kisser!
Dance With The Mind
Lisping Brambles
Laundromat
The Forgotten Growth
Weird Looking Weasle
Wrecktangle
Spyrofoam
Walking On Sludge
Captain Mainwaring
Eternal Blemish
Take That*
Pomp And Circumstance
Analogous
Green But Nice
Ponderus
Garrulous Gary And His Troubadours
Irrefutable Facts
Senseless Trousers
Nosepeg
Limbs Like Brooms
Breath Of Death
Virulent Shadow
Festerval
Twelve Things To Drink
Nappies And Diapers
Cry For Help
Underbyte
Gnashing
Eve Of Destruction
Vagina But More So
Time For Jokes
Silly Crypt
Too Salty
iPatch
Horse To Man
Asymptote
One Good Reason
Society Says
Cricket With The Chaps
Ogg Ogg Ogg
Only For Victory
Sustenator

It's a fun game?

*Yes, I wrote this down having apparently completely forgotten that there was already a band of this name. Give me a break, I must have been at about track 13 at this point and in a highly unstable state of mind.

That is, in all fairness, a truly amazing list.

I was originally planning to quote the ones that made me laugh but decided that my word count doesn't need that much padding.

And yet you people let the band names topic die. Obviously we need it now more than ever.

Use this to inspire you:

I am working on becoming a Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician. The exercises that I do require me to install windows, upgrade Windows, and tweak Windows to the point that it is barely useable. I do not wish to do that to my computer, so I'm doing it to the computer inside my computer.

I love Upsilon and I love the inclusion of "Asymptote" and the assurance it gives me that I'm not the only person to have found amusement in that word.

To clarify, here is a doodle from my GCSE maths book:

I'm downloading LinuxMint at almost a meg and a half per second. Yaaaaaaaay torrents and Linux and high speed internet. There's something about this whole thing that just makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
