This is something me and Chiz were talking about posting on FCMidi a while ago. I'm not sure who invented the idea, Chzrm suspects it was Upsilon, or it might have been from here, but this was on our old site.

Ok basically it's this: We make a comic strip together. But, no one has any idea what the other peoples' strips are like. So we'll arrange it like Paper Telephone - get 8 people set, and the leader will determine where there panels go.

We'll have to have some guidelines on size, such as dimensions, otherwise the comic will look really deformed. Anyway, I think Chiz has some old samples he can show us if I explained it stupidly.

Before we set anything down though we need some participants! So who wants in the first FCMIDI Amalgamation Comic? We'll start with 8 panels, but if we get enough people we can always add more.

I'm not sure I understand how this works... does each person draw one panel of the comic?

So we all make isolated comic strip panels, and then you order them? Sounds like it could get very silly and funny. Therefore, I'm in.

Exactly, TinyTim's got it. Izzhov, yes everyone draws 1 panel with the same dimensions so it comes together clean.

TinyTim, I put you in as first, but that doesn't neccesarily mean yours has to be the first panel, it's just for the sake of a list atm.

Ok guys, we have 8 people. And I'm not even in it! Wow, I'm glad lots of people went for this.

OK so instead of expanding this comic to include more members, since this is the first comic I'll leave it at 8 panels to serve as an example for future comics. Anyway now that we have the people we can set the guidelines. Believe me there aren't many.

1. Ok so I figure your panel should be 200 x 200 pixels. I think that's reasonable.
2. The topic is anything. ANYTHING. ANYTHING! Anything that comes to mind just draw it. For best results, I guess it's a good idea to have it starring the FCMidi peeps. But no matter what it somehow makes sense in the end, believe me.
3. The panels can be PMed to me, I guess. I'll make a checklist of what we have as they roll in and I'll paste them crudely together.

Ok! So now that that's out of the way, the question now is what the order is... so I think instead of doing it by order of who signed up first, I'll do it by who sends me the first one. Yeah.

Anyway, there ya go! No need to rush it, I know it's Christmas. I'm not gonna be like WTF WHERE IS $N's PANEL DAMMIT. at least not right now, lol.

Wow, 200 pixels is hard to cram a respectable amount of stuff into. I think mine turned out as well as it could have under the circumstances (restrictive dimensions, piss-poor artist, childish lack of imagination, etc.). Here you go, Yoshgunn!

Anyway, 5 in so far. Moving along a lot faster than I figured we would, so this am good.

By the way, if you want, maybe for the next one we could try larger dimensions. This one is sort of a practice thing anyway.

Well Thomas, right now we have everyone's in except for Blank and Sam. I sent Blank the PM with the dimensions because he said he probably wouldn't check here ever again, and Sam said he was going to do it soon. I think? Anyway all we need is those two.
