There's no reason to have a stickied obituary thread on a forum devoted to a Marylander's music and video games, that's a stupid idea. The notion is popular right now, for some reason, but it will soon fade and we'll be left with this awkward, somewhat morbid and bound to be disrespectful, obituary thread. Most of the threads are just filled with "who was he? *learns* o dat sux. sry 4 his deth guyz."

I wasn't telling you what to do, if that's who your post was aimed at. I thought it was dumb of Izzhov to try ordering people around when he carries absolutely no authority. Then I read dP's post and thought that having an obituary sticky thread is very not cool.

I guess I can see why you'd (dpal) think putting all the meaningful deaths into one thread is demeaning, but you can probably take it on good faith that we don't mean anything by it. After all, right now we always put "X dies", as a throw-back to the old "X dies" fad. However, we're all on the same page with this, and nobody's doing it to make fun of the deaths.
Whatever, I don't care either way - I just felt the idea had more validity than how flippantly it was dismissed.
As far as the mods thing, yeah dragon can you not pay my tuition too?!?!?!? (seriously man that really wouldn't help me out at all, negative thanks in the past).

Yeah. For the record, I kinda meant it as a joke. 
I guess I don't have a problem with it staying if Fruity doesn't... but if so, can we think of a better name for it than "Obituaries?" If the intent is to pay respect to the person, y'know... it shouldn't seem so depressing.

Well, aside from the fact that I'm sure people do give a crap about at least some of these people (we had one for Fred Dibnah, didn't we?), that's almost right on the money.
But, then, it's the internet. Heaven forbid anyone takes what I wrote for its intended purpose, y'know.

i agree with ___ that izzhov's post was a bit pretentious, but i don't think it's worthy of drama so i didn't comment on it
