Firstly, you're not missing out. Imo, all the custom maps for tf2 so far are... well... mediocre. And from what I've heard, so are the Portal ones.

And Half Life 2... keep at it. Episode 2 is fantastic, high point of the series imo.

I'm playing Call of Duty 4. It is easily the most impressive game I've seen graphically. And it's pretty frickin' hard too. Haven't touched the multiplayer yet - campaign is really fun even if I do end up dieing an awful lot.

I used to play it. It gets really boring after ascending a few times. I quit in July after playing for almost a year. I was in the VGMusic guild headed by DrZaius and it was incredibly inactive (I joined when there were around 8 members and left with DrZ and some really inactive player). Ascended with all the classes too. Pastafarian was the easiest. But the best money-maker was the one class where you could make the mushrooms as a reborn ascended player. Had a guide on how to make the absolute most expensive ones and made lots of money off them.

But other than that, the game gets VERY repetitive after awhile.

Last web game I played was Lands of Hope. Only game I've ever spent real money on and have been active over a year. And there's a Pirate expansion coming out in a couple of weeks, so lots of us are looking forward to it.

I always found the best way of making meat was farming the high-level areas with huge item drop boosters. Mushroom farming becomes secondary income if you can get enough adventures.

I'm in the middle of six back-to-back Oxycore runs now (to be followed by six back-to-back Bad Moon runs), though, so I haven't had a chance to do much of that.

Please tell me: what does it mean to ascend? You're the second person the mention it, and I still have no idea what it is.

Not everyone does. This is my twelfth ascension and I won't be stopping any time soon. Bashy has done more ascensions than I care to count and he's still around.

I got bored of it because after ascending, you essentially do the same stuff over again. And I dont find doing that main quest over again 6+ times all that fun. I say 6 instead of 3 because I played all the classes.

I've recently been playing Sam and Max: Season One. I review everything about it as 10/10. In fact, scratch that. Everything about it is 10/0! It so good, it breaks mathematical laws. It even has dirty jokes:

Sam: Hey, Max, wanna pet the unicorn?
Max: No thanks. I took care of that before we left the office.

Sam and Max is equal to good.

Rock Band. I'm starting to get less creeped out when girl singers join only and are forced to sing guy songs which doesn't look jolly on the screen.

Looking for some holiday fun, I recently bought two cheap games - XIII and Star Wars: Republic Commando. Good fun, both of them. Especially XIII, some of the best fun I've had with a video game in a long time.

Yeah, I had a lot of fun with that game's multiplayer.

Anyway, I've been playing a lot of assassin's creed today. It is a bit repetitive, but I honestly don't care about the missions. Most of the joy I'm getting from the game is just from running around the cities. I dunno what it is, but I'm still in awe of Altair's flexibility and athleticism. He scales buildings and springs across boards and crap so effortlessly, it's really impressive.

I don't really think Assassin's Creed is the "first true next-gen" title that it was promised to be. To accomplish that, they'd have to make the pick-pocketing, the interrogation, all that stuff, somehow more natural. Having it tell you "OH HERES THE GUY LOL PRESS B AT HIM" just kinda ruins it.

However, it is a really, really fun game, and I look forward to future installments.

A while back I was playing Lego Star Wars. It's for people who are too lazy to build the lego themselves.

Season One is love. So is Hit the Road. I can't wait for the second set to finish so I can waste $20 more.

I've been playing around with Disgaea: Hour of Darkness and Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories on my newfound PS2. Most damning addicting games I have laid my greedy mitts on since the original Pokémon. It's a tactical RPG and plays very much like a board game, and although I tend to stay away from RPGs for fear of level grinding, I love these games to pieces anyway. I'm so close to unlocking a few certain things but JUST CANNOT. JESUS.

In terms of RPGs, some of my favorites of all time are the Mario ones. I don't know why, but I pretty much love all of them. SMRPG rocked, Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga ruled, and the Paper Mario Series pwn'd. Play those if you haven't already.

I've played and beaten some of the Mario RPGs, and I loved them as well since they seemed much less complicated. I actually got through some of Super Mario RPG but somehow I got distracted and never got halfway through it. My favorite is still the original Paper Mario, but Mario & Luigi on the GBA is wonderful as well. I can't believe though I still don't own the former, but I rented it many times (and faced many jerks who deleted my saved game on more than one occasion) to complete it.

I've been spending hours at a time on Bioshock this past week, having got distracted from it when I first bought it. That and obviously Guitar Hero, along with a truly awful free Xbox Live Arcade game I stumbled across while using an American account, which involves driving a Toyota Yaris with a tentacle-rape appendage around badly rendered half-pipes shooting at badly-rendered sumo wrestlers and owls.

I am spurred on by a morbid determination to get 200 gamerscore out of it. I'm not entirely sure why.

For the love of all that is good and holy play Dragon Quest 8.

I've finally got my grubby hands on Burnout Revenge and it is well fun.
