[spoiler:c87bf38a04]I actually haven't done Mecha Birdo yet, because I think you need to first get the power up in (9,1) to beat 'im (the floating gun thing). Try avoiding the moon and going right from (8,1) instead of falling down. It's a difficult double jump to make, but it's possible. I'm stuck on (9,1), though, because I don't know what to do with those green vine things there.[/spoiler:c87bf38a04]

Also, on the other side of things, the 'bowser' battle is really pissing me off. I can get bowser easily, but when wart pops out I don't have enough chances to learn how to avoid him. And when I die, it's back to bowser. It's seriously gheyyyyyy.
Is there a way to speed up the opening thing where bowser/wart slowly descend in their little floating cars? The same way you can speed up the boxer? [/spoiler:06fff42b2c]

Remember, you can hold shift to increase your height on each jump. [spoiler:95c8164c3f]You pretty much need a perfect (as in, the highest you can get) double jump to make it up. You'll get the hang of it after awhile. It's kinda rhythmic.[/spoiler:95c8164c3f]

The easiest way to [spoiler:95c8164c3f]beat Wart is to stay on the very rightmost edge of the platform and not move at all, except to jump upwards when he sends shock waves near you. When he looks like he's starting to do something different from that pattern, don't move at all from that spot and don't jump. Wart will disappear after he does that second move. It's weird: you don't even need to attack 'im.[/spoiler:95c8164c3f]

Oh, and with that part with the spikes and the vines - I'm able to jump up on the ledge now, but how do you do that bottom part? Where the thing is moving along and goes right underneath a spike? [/spoiler:1b6de8eb91]

Also, I can't work out how to do (0, -1). The gap is big. IT MAKES NO SENSE YOU GUYS.
And another thing, [spoiler:b52665cff9]can you do anything in the Room of Divine Transportation (or whatever it's called)? I made it there, but all the things which you would presume provide transportation result in deathytude. Is it just in the demo that this is the case?[/spoiler:b52665cff9]

[spoiler:0117aacde8]I think the purpose of that room will unfold once we start killing bosses and whatnot - since it's possible to go from that room to all the other parts of the game, it might be that when you kill a boss, you're transported back there and can go about completing the rest of the game. I dunno, though... but yeah you might wanna get the full version, the demo blocks off tons of content.[/spoiler:0117aacde8]
Edit: I beat [spoiler:0117aacde8]Meta-Birdo. Here's how (no power up is required).
The first phase, you have to shoot the red block that's on top of her head. You'll know you've hit it when it lights up. This phase is far and away the easiest, as the eggs move very slow and the only hazards are the occasional flying shy guys that try to knock you off. If you're on the lowest egg, you can't hit her at all, so just position yourself to jump to the next one. If you're on the middle egg, you can only hit her when she's low. It's important, though, to make sure you maximize your time on the top egg, and shoot off as many bullets at her box as ya can.
Phase 2 gets really unfair and frustrating. In this phase, there's a few things to take note of - first off, whenever you jump you will be pulled along a bit by the momentum of the eggs. This means jumping backwards is not an option, you will just stay stationary. It's useful for if you need to stay stationary, but the only way to move back is by waiting on the eggs. Also, watch out for the fire she shoots. It's fairly easy to dodge, but you might find yourself trying to get shots in, or just looking for good positioning, and be headed straight for death. To win this phase you just have to shoot her eyes a lot, which are much more centered than shooting her bow.
Phase 3 is actually really easy. She won't shoot anything at you and the eggs slow down to a much more managable speed. At this phase, just spam bullets into her mouth until she dies. The only catch here is that the red parts of the tips of the eggs are now lit up, and touching them = death. You either have to jump under or over them. (I recommend over, cause you get better positioning).
I'm in the room beyond Meta-Birdo now. @_@
Okay, so I got that part done. And yeah, the divine room teleports you to the place ~after~ each boss. Interestingly enough, you don't seem to be able to retain those red, flashing orbs through death... so you probably have to get all six of them by transporting back, and then get to the boss, all without dying. Which is insanely ridiculous, but hey, what did you expect? : P[/spoiler:0117aacde8]

Oh btw I figured out the secret to a room but I dont know its coo-rds. Lets see, from the starting place you go up 1, left 1 left 1 and you find a big spike pit. the way across is you jump and land on an invisible block. Twice. Then you make it across to a room that I cannot figure out.
So I guess it's (-2, 1)?

It's... evil.
I can only get halfway through the apples, and I don't think you're supposed to be able to get past the spikes.
NO CLUES, though, I'll figure it out myself.
By the way, this game gets a mention in the new NGamer magazine, as the most difficult game ever. |
