So, now that the jig is unquestionably up, what's the story behind each of these? I feel we should be told.

The story? Ooer, there was supposed to be a story? I guess I didn't get that memo... Anger Lune

Well, I suppose I could throw together a few sentences' worth of drivel about each movement if you're genuinely interested. Razz

Mvt III. Pumpernickel
Since pumpernickel is a type of German bread (and quite delicious, I might add), I wanted to use a style of music for this movement that sounded at least vaguely German. In the end, I went with a sort of polka/march hybrid -- polka because the genre originated in Bohemia, which lies within the Czech Republic, which borders Germany to the east, and march because of the Nazis.

Mvt IV. Woodrow Wilson's Corpse
This piece is upbeat and fun. Because corpses are upbeat and fun. Trivia Time -- Before I decided on Wilson for the title, other, equally dead, former US presidents were considered, including Harry S Truman, William Howard Taft, and Calvin Coolidge.

Mvt V. Beanie
The colorful pattern, the thrill of watching the propeller spin around and around; what's not to love about beanies? Astute listeners may notice a faint similarity between this movement and another of my works, the 8-95.com Sucks song. On second thought, nevermind; there's no similarity. It's all in your head. Y'looney.

Mvt VI. 9-Volt Battery
This short yet deeply poignant piece was first known as "Toby's Theme", in honor of this one crazy kid with whom I attended high school. He used to play the electric bass guitar. Electric guitars require electricity (bear with me here), and electricity can at times be obtained from batteries. I've always considered the 9-volt battery to be sort of the red-headed stepchild of the battery family, so I decided to dedicate a song to its tragically underappreciated nature.

Mvt VII. Haunted House
On the whole, haunted houses can be described as mysterious, dilapidated and spooky, so I carefully chose instruments and motifs that conveyed the desired mood. Looking back, though, I'm pretty sure I ripped the chord progression directly from the theme of Disney World's "Haunted Mansion" ride. Whoops.

Mvt VIII. Landmaster
The subject of this movement certainly hasn't had a shortage of time in the limelight recently, but I'm sure we'll all come to forgive Sakurai in time. That being said, I chose a techno style for this one because the Landmaster is a piece of futuristic technology, and you can't spell TECHNOLOGY without TECHNO. LOL WORDS.

Mvt IX. Big Mac (Grand Finale)
A last expression of triumph, before all is engulfed in silence. I considered renaming this movement to "King Mac", but then I realized that people who weren't around for Forums 2.0 wouldn't have caught the reference and might have instead incorrectly insinuated that I was attempting to make some sort of lame joke involving both McDonald's and Burger King. And that would've been, in the immortal words of Jaleel White, no good. Just to clear things up, no, this finale isn't about food. Nor, incidentally, is it about fast food, which 4 out of 9 scientists agree does not, in fact, fall under the former category.

Okay, that's it. I hope y'all're happy. Nice Work

Oh I don't mind. Just make sure that, if anyone asks you, you tell them who it was made by.

That's all I ask.

Of course!

He was actually the one who had the original idea for the theme. Razz

That kind of reminds me of Greg's Theme. One day he came into band class, sat down and got out his saxophone, and played that little thing there at the end with the bells/flute and said that it was his Theme Song of the Day. Coincidentally it was the only theme song of the day he ever had and it kind of stuck as an inside joke between us. I kind of gather that's what your piece is like. Razz

Apologies for essentially linking something of mine in your thread, Kevin, but yeah Razz
