First up today, we've got quite a special treat. A certain Andrew Brown, known to the forum community as King Bowser Koopa, has put together an animated short entitled "Dragon Story", for which he enlisted my help in providing the soundtrack. The animation itself is spectacular, so go ahead and view it here! (Unfortunately, due to a bizarre lag glitch at the end of the first scene, there's a bit of a hiccup that causes the background music to play approximately two seconds early, up until the final scene. But, never mind that and just marvel at Andrew's pretty pictures!) If you so desire, you can download an MP3 of the music right here.

Apart from that, I've uploaded two additional new tunes: Repetaton, a bit of an upbeat techno dealy, and Sunset Tumbleweeds, a fun little laid-back bluegrass-type thing. Enjoy!

Wow [s:fdcfa9db82]IDK[/s:fdcfa9db82] KBK, that's some pretty sweet drawing skillz you gots there. I also loved the ending!

And those tunes be verreh nice, Dr Fruitcake. Sunset Tumbleweeds sounds like it would make a good theme song to some sort of show.

Code:
while(!fileExists("drf_iaw07_3scissors.mp3")
{
     smackWithObject("Dr. Fruitcake", "Wrench");
}

Come on, now. "a-one, and a-two, and a-three?" I get the music reference, but I thought that was a not-so-subtle suggestion that this was finished instead. Why do you torture us so, Fruity? ;[

Naw, seriously, glad to see some updates. I'll download em later when not at work. ROFL Lune

That animation was awesome, KBK. Keep it up. The music fit nicely also, Kevin. Changed at all the right places etc, intentionally I'm sure. Razz

I think I get why you named the techno song Repetaton. As for my opinion, it actually feels like it came straight out of a racing game. It was a'ight, good background music.

Sunset Tumbleweeds, on the other hand, feels straight out of Yoshi's Story or something. It also feels much more up your general alley of music than techno does. But, in general, I loved this song a hell of a lot. It felt very... autumn-y. Like, as soon as I listened to it, I saw a forest full of brown, gold, and orange leaves both on the ground and the trees. Yeah, that's what it brought to mind.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK SOLDIER.

Heh that was an interesting little animation. Very nicely/professionally put together. I presume the movie was made first and the music was put to it afterwards, right? It definitely takes a different mindset/skillset. Right now at vgmusic we're having a tournament where people compose music to 30 second videos. I already did one myself (as well as other ads and tv intros in the past); maybe I'll post it up on the Creative Corner. It's fun putting music to visuals, especially when you get unintentional hit points and end up creating new narratives without first realising.

What the hell I thought I posted in this topic.

Again, excellent work. The Dragon Story made me cry with sadness and then joy. I also really like the Bluegrass tune.

Sorry I can't offer much more save "BLAH BLAH KBK IS GOOD BLAH BLAH."

What happened to Sir Kevin, Slayer-of-idle-Creativity? I was so enjoying the months upon months upon months long drought of nothingness.

I apologize for that last sentence.

This update: "So good, it brought Blank back."

Liking Dragon Story, though the moments of silence struck me as rather jarring, especially since they often seemed to come when you'd expect some sort of crescendo. What's up with that?

Tumbleweeds is, of course, great, but Repetaton is also a fine track that isn't getting enough love in this thread. Splendid stuff!

EDIT: Also, the two of you clearly need to collaborate with Jack Black and Jason Orange.

The dragon didn't die, it was merely a facade to cheer the knight up, or get him to go away faster. Note the "Ima see if he's actually looking" thing before he falls over.
