Well, if you're looking for someone to blame, it was actually Orb's idea. 
Okay, so, since the beginning, the organization of the boards has always been more than a little arbitrary! And we've been planning for a while now to implement this whole Feedback/Appeals thing (which will become more clear when Cheese Monkey gets around to posting the buggerin' thread about it  ) and to finally post an up-to-date, all-purpose set of rules (which we've now done). Orby proposed that since we were already planning to do a bit of restructuring, we take the opportunity to re-organize the boards into a somewhat more cohesive layout, with boards of similar purpose actually being next to each other -- fancy that, eh? 
EDIT: To elaborate, our decision for the new order was based loosely on associations between each board's general scope:
General (Misc) - IRL stuff / serious business
Gobbledygook - Forum games / not-so-serious business
Video Games - IRL games
Role-Playing - Forum stories
Media Madness - Forum members' creations
Site-O-Rama - Random people's creations
I hope no one is too disoriented (alternatively, distoriuntated) by the switcheroo.

We didn't get rid of anything! Worry not. It probably just looks that way because we merged two categories into one, so the whole arrangement takes up a bit less screen space visually.

Edit: It also unsettles me to see how the boards have been shuffled round (RPL belongs at the bottom, dammit!), but that's probably just me being anal.

Well, really, it didn't make much sense the way it was. "Misc. Forum" implied a board full of, well, miscellaneous stuff with no particular purpose. When it was created, well... some of you may remember, that was before game threads started appearing there (and when they did, Gobbledygook was born).
Basically what I'm trying to say is that the label "Misc. Forum" was more relevant when it was created than it is now.
Of course, you guys can feel free to throw out some new names. We... didn't really have many ideas.

Nah, I wouldn't say so meself. "Chunky", perhaps. Not crowded. I like it, really. But I can still see no practical semantic distinction between "General Discussion" and "Misc Forum".
That said, if we must relabel it, I second Izzhov's proposal. Except that instead of 'awesome', it should be 'incredible'.
