I thought I posted this somewhere. Evidently I didn't?

Although I'm considering this less and less likely, SB, consider changing both of your nicks and idents. (I think Trillian lists ident as 'username' in the little fill-in connection boxes.) And connect with a different nick. He suggested it might be that your nick or ident is getting banned as you connected...

If you can connect from school or something, consider asking in #Services

I have, most of the servers I know of don't use unreal and I really like unreal, but I will find a suitable one soon.

I really would rather figure out what is up with this, though, so give me time. Maybe we'll figure it out eventually. It's just going to keep bothering me either way...

there you have it, sir, I believe trillian calls real-name field 'user info'

edit: okay, general consensus is because of the bot-blocking filter, you need to put SOMETHING lowercase in your ident and realname fields. so... instead of putting "SB" put "SBrulz" or something. anything. you don't have to change your nick but apparently you have to change both of those. i believe they are Username and User Info in trillian.

Yeah I use Pidgin but that's really because I already have it for AIM and stuff. There are probably better clients but I can't be arsed (lolbritish) to run multiple chat programs.

I thought mIRC was kind of a clunky space-hog though. Like if you wanted to be on IRC it was ALL YOU COULD DO.

contrarily, the stereotype of IRC users is people who idle 24/7 and never say anything. never have any space or memory issues with mIRC, it's nice and simplistic. love it.

on the other hand, i haven't found a single AIM setup i've liked. all of them are irritating. even DeadAIM is just a matter of damage limitation. it's a good thing there's only 3 or so people on there i actively speak to these days.

Haven't used IRC since the days of Windows 98... but I've just installed ChatZilla and things seem to be working fine. Smile

mIRC uses pretty minimal memory. I dunno exactly about screen space. Why can't you minimize and resize?
