There was, like, this website called Fruitcake Midi, and it had this forum that I used to go to for like years and years, and I spoke about games and stuff there, and art. And lots of crazy stuff would happen all the time. But then I woke up and I could only remember parts, as if it happened so long ago...

It was crazy!!

But no, I'm still lurking about, long in tooth, but hopefully not long forgotten.

In the last episode, I was completing a university course for my bachelor degree in multimedia design. I think you can still watch my collaborative animation/musical wonder on the main page, unless it's been taken down. I know the artwork links don't lead anywhere...

Since then I've had the illustriously sh*tty job of working at call center for an insurance company, calling customers to reconfirm their details in case they have anything wrong (which would mean their policy is not only illegal but there would then be a boatload of red tape and problems if they had to make a claim). You can imagine the kind of rubbish I would have to deal with there;
"Why do you need to confirm my details? You already have them!"
"You're trying to steal my identity aren't you? I saw it on the news!"
"I don't have a policy with you guys, my insurance is with *lists name of the company I work for*".
And those are the polite ones. Ah, if only I had access to a "cancel policy" button on the system I use.

But all that has changed this week, I'm now officially training as an English teacher for foreign students, or ESOL (English as a Second Language) if I decide to take my new credential overseas.
I currently have a class of roughly 18 students, though it fluctuates based on their timetables. My first official lesson was today, during which I told them how to form questions based on information they wanted to gather, with speaking practice asking various questions to each other. It was a power-trip.
Assuming I don't get a nice lucrative job at the end of my training, I'll be back at the insurance company again until I do... which I'm hoping won't be required.

What have I missed since my last presence?

Nothing. Everyone is too busy with rl to post apparently.

Good to see you getting an ESL job though, that's pretty cool.

Good to see you back! You've missed precisely nothing since you were last here, the forums have pretty much slowed to a crawl in recent months.

I've had dreams like that a few times; not dreams about actually killing someone per se, but that I'd already done it and was living in fear of getting caught. Probably a result of watching far too much Dexter. Come to think of it how do you murder someone with a ruler?

I had this really weird dream a few nights ago, where I was riding with someone in a real fancy, high-tech SUV and despite (or maybe IN SPITE OF!) the high-tech navigational equipment we were totally lost. We happened upon what looked to be the scene of a crime in progress around a lake and at first we were going to call for help, but then I suddenly got totally brave as we were driving away and dove out of the vehicle in motion. I just hauled off and slugged a guy, and then stole a ridiculously large hacksaw from the back pocket (?) of another, and started swinging it at all the rest. It did piss poor damage for a giant hacksaw, or any sort of hacksaw for that matter, but I'm fairly certain it gave me the edge nonetheless as I vaguely recall claiming victory at the end even though I fought like a total spaz. I think I ended up rescuing the sexy female lead!

The strangest part of the dream was that before I got to the SUV (after the driver and I had acquired some TOP SECRET PLANS, I think) I started off as some sort of protagonist in a first person shooter, most likely Goldeneye. There were also some bits in the Matrix parody stage from Conker's Bad Fur Day. I think I had to restart once or twice.
