Welcome to the Gobbledygook Forum.
This forum is generally reserved for game threads that are easy to post on but require little purpose or intensive thought. It also is home to the Off-Topic Topic, where any post is considered valid and the topic is a free-for-all of randomness. The purpose of this forum is to freely move with (relatively) no boundaries.
Guidelines for Gobbledygook
- Give your game thread some guidlines. When inventing a "game" thread, you'll want rules to ensure a clear flow of posts from other users. What kind of limits do you want to put in your thread to help add to its unique nature? Rules can be simple (post a word that associates with the word posted above) to more complex (the paper telephone thread, where private messaging and other things are used to create a crazy string of picture and paragraph). As long as your topic has a clear idea, and other users can catch on, it's a prime candidate for a solid game thread.
- Keep only one Off-Topic Topic. Contrary to popular belief, much of Gobbledygook consists of game threads with little actual complete insane posting randomness (although The Black Orb will try to tell you otherwise). If you feel like posting something totally crazy and irrevelant to a game thread, do it on the Off-Topic Topic. Keep in mind game threads that appear to have too few boundaries as to almost imitate the Off-Topic topic are not allowed (for example, a "post a random word thread" is not a valid game thread due to its similarity to the Off-Topic Topic).
Threads in this board which have had no new posts for sixty days will be deleted. Please do not "bump" threads to keep them from being pruned. If you wish to save a thread from pruning and you cannot revive the discussion, ask a moderator to consider it for the Topic Treasury. |
